1. The South-East Governors’ Forum on Friday proscribed the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB at an emergency meeting held at the Enugu Government House.

Among the governors who made the decision were: Governors Dave Umahi of Ebonyi, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, Willie Obiano of Anambra and the Deputy Governor of Imo State.

2. Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to meet with the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, before the ongoing crisis gets out of hand.

Obasanjo noted that there was nothing wrong Buhari meeting with Kanu over the ongoing agitation for the rebirth of Biafra.

3. The United States Diplomatic Mission has said that it is joining well-meaning Nigerians to sue for peace, calling for an end to violence in the country.

The U.S. Mission to Nigeria urged Nigerian leaders and citizens across the country to end incessant violence in the country.

4. President Muhammadu Buhari has reportedly ordered the Nigeri​an military to weaken Nnamdi Kanu and his group, the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) before he returns from the trip he is set to embark on.

The president, angered by the audacity of the IPOB, ordered the military to move in and quell their violent clamour.

5. The Presidency on Friday said that President Muhammadu Buhari, will on Sunday jet out of Nigeria for New York, to attend the 72nd Session of the United Nations General Assembly, UNGA 72.

Buhari is expected to participate in the General Debate during which he will deliver the country’s National Statement.

6. Thirty one people were confirmed dead while seven others were seriously injured when two 18-passenger buses collided with another vehicle on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway on Thursday night.

The crash occurred close to a construction site around Elebolo area in Oluyole, Ibadan. The Police Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State Command, Adekunle Ajisebutu confirmed the incident.

7. The Rivers State Governor, Chief Nyesom Wike, has called on members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra to stop attacking Nigerians from other parts of the country in the state.

Wike maintained that the state belonged to all and would not tolerate a situation where IPOB members would attack citizens from other parts of Nigeria.

8. The Defence Headquarters on Friday declared the Indigenous People of Biafra a terrorist group.

The Director, Defence Information, Maj. Gen. John Enenche, who made the announcement, said recent developments had made it clear that IPOB was violent and possessed militant weapons.

9. Immediate past President, Goodluck Jonathan has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to summon a Council of State meeting.

The former president said Buhari should summon the counsel of State so as to advise him on how to handle the current crisis across the country.

10. Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong on Friday revealed that two persons were killed during the violence between Hausas and Igbos in Jos, the state capital.
